Swim Club - Oxley Otters
The P&C Association operates the Oxley State School Amateur Swimming Club (Oxley Otters).
Club nights
Club nights are held every Friday night during Term 4 and Term 1 the following year. The pool opens at 5.45 pm and nominations for events close at 6 pm, with events commencing at 6.30pm sharp.
Four strokes are contested each club night over distances of 15m, 25m and 50m. The stroke order changes each week. Swimmers may only compete in one distance per stroke each club night.
Swimmers compete against their own best time for points and accumulate points based on their performances in each event compared to their best times. At the end of the season all swimmers receive a medal showing their point tally, and the points earners in various categories will win trophies.

Club championships
The Club Championships are held at the end of Term 1. Swimmers may nominate to swim in as many strokes as they are eligible. The swimmer with the highest aggregate points in their age group over all four strokes will be named Club Age Champion. The presentation of Championship trophies and awards for the year takes place at the completion of Championship events.
Carnivals
Three way carnivals are held to allow Oxley club swimmers the opportunity to compete as a team away from Club nights. The carnivals are held against other state schools and are a good introduction to carnivals for new or younger swimmers.
