Day for Daniel - Friday 25th October
Day for Daniel honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe. This year, Day for Daniel falls on Friday October 25th. On this very special day, all Australians are asked to Wear Red, Educate and Donate. Parents, carers, families and educators are encouraged to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety. This day is a chance for schools and communities to come together and help raise awareness of child safety issues. Free resources and educational videos are available on the Daniel Morcombe Foundation website - https://danielmorcombe.com.au/day-for-daniel/ to help encourage these conversations around child safety. You also have the option to donate on the website listed and help to raise funds that support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to continue to develop their free education initiatives and to support young victims of crime.
Oxley will show our support in rememberance of Daniel by wearing red, the colour that represents child safety and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. Students are encouraged to wear a red shirt to school on Friday 25th October in support of Day for Daniel. Please remember that red clothing needs to be sun safe and school appropriate.
